16th March 2003 Windsurfing: Porthcawl - Newton Wind Direction: E Wind Stength: F2-4 Surf / Sea State: Flat as a witches tit Air Temperature: 13C Sea Temperature: Still cold Weather: Fabulous sunshine Max Speed: Distance Covered: Arrived 14:00, having first called in at Cold Knap for BNWC away day - winds there were v light & the sea would soon have been on the shingle bank. Wind was light & gusty here too, but at least there was no problem with a steep embankment like The Knap. Nothing terribly exciting, managed to get planing about 30% of the time - some gusts were just about on the limit of comfort. Eventually, the wind seemed to drop around 16:30. Played around in the shallows practising tacking & heli-tacks. Packed-up around 17:00. |
